Education is a transformative tool that should inspire and empower students. In my classroom, I strive to create an inclusive, supportive environment. Students are challenged to develop confidence. They also hone critical thinking and real-world skills essential for their future careers.

My approach to teaching is grounded in a growth mindset. I give feedback that is both constructive and encouraging, designed to build students’ self-efficacy while pushing them to stretch intellectually. I believe meaningful feedback, rooted in genuine care, is essential for fostering resilience and academic growth.

I bring a diverse perspective from my years of leadership and management experience outside academia. I connect theoretical concepts to practical applications. This “boots-on-the-ground” experience, paired with my academic background in Educational Leadership (Ph.D.), enables me to prepare students not only for academic success but also for professional challenges beyond the classroom.

My core teaching goals are:

  • Building Student Confidence: I aim to equip students with the self-assurance necessary to pursue their goals. I design assignments and classroom activities that balance challenge and support. This fosters an environment where students can succeed. They learn from failure and grow.
  • Developing Critical Thinking: I encourage students to examine their assumptions and question their beliefs critically. Through reflective discussions and analytical tasks, I help students cultivate the ability to think independently and solve complex problems.
  • Connecting Learning to Careers: I emphasize the relevance of academic work by helping students link course content to real-world skills. Assignments are framed to show how communication, leadership, and analytical abilities translate directly into professional contexts.

Overall, my teaching philosophy centers on cultivating confident, thoughtful, and career-ready individuals. I am committed to continuous reflection and innovation in my teaching practices. I aim to meet the evolving needs of diverse learners. I strive to prepare them for lifelong success.
